Camera and Photo Library Access

OutcomeView requests access to your camera and photo library solely to capture or select images of teaching materials for assessment creation. We do not access photos unrelated to your use of the app.

  • Photos are temporarily processed to generate assessments

  • We do not store your original photos after processing

AI Processing

When you upload photos to create assessments:

  • Images are sent to our secure servers
  • AI analyzes the content to generate relevant questions
  • Only the generated assessment text is stored, not the original images

Chrome Extension (OutcomeView for Chrome)

Our Chrome extension helps educators grade student work. Here's how we handle your data:

What We Collect:

  • Screenshots or text you capture from web pages (answer keys, student submissions)
  • Grading results and feedback generated by our AI models
  • Your authentication token (stored locally in Chrome)

How We Use It:

  • Captured content is sent to our servers for OCR text extraction and grading
  • Multiple AI models analyze submissions to generate consensus grades
  • Grading results are stored in your OutcomeView account for future reference

What We Don't Do:

  • We do not capture or access any pages you don't explicitly select
  • We do not track your browsing history or activity
  • We do not sell or share student data with third parties
  • We do not store original screenshots after processing

Permissions: The extension requires access to capture visible tabs and read text selections only when you explicitly trigger a capture action via right-click menu.

Data Storage and Security

  • Your data is stored securely using Supabase (industry-standard cloud infrastructure)
  • All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
  • Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text

  • Backup copies may persist for up to 30 days before automatic deletion

Children's Privacy

OutcomeView is designed for educators and is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
